Historian
Uliana graduated cum laude from the Faculty of History of Moscow State University Lomonosov with a degree in Art History. Her PhD thesis explored the work of Melozzo da Forli, a Roman artist active during the Renaissance. Her research interests include the representation of power in art, the history of the art market, and Russian and Japanese contemporary art. She is a member of the Moscow Union of Artists in the "Art History" section. Her articles published in peer-reviewed academic journals can be found here.
Critic
Her essays and articles have been published in Russian and English-language cultural magazines such as Calvert Journal, Russian Art Focus, Strelka Mag, Dialogue of Arts and The Art Newspaper Russia. In 2019, the Russian literary journal "Nosorog" published her translation (from the French original) of Laura Bossi's book "On Agalmatophilia, or The Love of Statues." In 2020, she took part in the Garage Museum "Reflections" project.
Consultant
Since 2010, she has been evaluating works of art for investors, private collectors, cultural and financial institutions, insurance companies, and legal proceedings. She has collaborated with leading Russian collectors (Roman Babichev, Petr Aven and others), galleries (Triumph, Popoff Gallery, 11.12), and museums (Moscow Kremlin Museums, MMOMA, Tretyakov Gallery).
She holds a specialist’s degree in "Business Valuation" from Moscow’s Stock Market and Management Institute (IFRU). Since has been a member of the Russian Society of Appraisers Association since 2015. Since 2011, she has lectured on the valuation and history of the art market at the RMA business school.
